I tend not to get into the hype of who is cheating, multiple nicks and
such and do not say much in the forums. But after reading all the
slamming that is going on, accusations and so on, I thought I would
post my thoughts at the risk of being the focal point of some
immature players on this site. First and foremost is the fact that I
respect Dave for all what he has done to better this site. My hat is off
to him. He calls it like it is and you know what...I believe he is right.
Dave's knowledge of chess is undeniable and he deserves to be at the
number 1 spot. For those of you who think its ok to use a program,
play against yourself, who are you kidding? Yourself! The very nature
of correspondence chess is such that those who do not know the
complex game of chess tend to find ways to bolster their self esteem.
Myself, I could give a rats ass about ratings and actually am surprised
that I find myself replying to all the anamosity that is going on here.
To Dave...Dont get caught up in the BS that is going on and dont
lower yourself to the level that some on this site play or think that you
have to explain yourself. I have found that 99% of the players here
are great guys and girls who play...just to play. Hopefully things will
settle down here and get on with meeting people from all over the
world, helping the beginners with their questions and strategy
and .........playing chess. I hope I dont come across as a know it all..I
am not. Paul

Well, my post did not come off as I had hoped.

I was simply affirming Paul's observation, not implying that he
thought he was a "know-it-all" and I had to let him know that he was
not. Notice the grin at the end of my sentence?

Paul knows very well that he does not know it all, as I know the same
about myself, and as many others do know here about themselves. I
was simply agreeing with him.
