Would've been sweeter if they'd gotten that last goal! Still ... 🙂

I have a French friend who wears an England shirt to England games (well, he does live here). Looks like he still has one team to support for sure.... 😉

I had 2-1 France, Henry first scorer at 22/1.

Like France, this has not been my world cup.

too bad korea scored that goal in the second half. i didnt see it mentioned here yet, so just in case anyone missed it, the score should have been 2-1, not 1-1. in the first half, there was a goal that was "blocked" by the Korean goalie. only problem was that he was already a couple feet inside the goal when he blocked it, and the ball was clearly over the line. this was shown a couple times over in replays here in the states. in other words, it was actually a goal. im not a big soccer fan (i DO enjoy watching the World Cup, just dont watch soccer on a regular basis), and im certainly no fan of France, but i know if that happened in a US game and we tied/lost because it wasn't counted, i for one would be pissed. especially if it meant the difference between advancing to the next round or going home.

Well, one always has to remember that bad calls are as much a part of sports as bad plays. Of course, being pissed now and then is also a part of sports, watching or playing. I'm just surprised at how low these scores are. I'm sure almost all my guesses at scores are way too high.

That's 'cos you come from a country where more is apparently better...

When did you last see a 0-0 draw in any of the following sports?

Baseball
Basketball
American Football
Ice Hockey
NASCAR

😉

P.s. I'm sure Baseball / Ice Hockey could produce a full-time draw, mustn't be very often though - would displease the sponsors.

No, baseball keeps going and going and going ... I think there was a Yankee game that was 17 innings, but I'm not sure now.

Today has not been good for me, I had 1-0 to Croatia, and they missed a pen so they should have won 1-0, and I had France 2-1 and they had that goal not given. 😞 Oh well, joint top still is still good 🙂

Well, at least you have local people to talk to and/or bet against! I'm the only one in the county watching that I know of!😲

in general, i think soccer games are *supposed* to be low scoring. i think too much scoring would mean that a team's defense isn't doing its job. however, i do agree that it is a bit surprising that even the favorites haven't done that much scoring, other than Argentina. at least that's how it seems to me.

o yea, and if u want to see scoring, you should've watched Argentina and Serbia/Montenegro. one of my friends is Serbian. i called him to offer my condolences after the game.

Well, I certainly hope when we get to the final World Cup game for the championship that it will go into overtime if it's a draw in regulation time.

It's entirely possible that NASCAR has had a draw or two. Every year there are x number of horse races that end in dead heats. I expect a dead heat in auto racing is also possible.
