Now the ref's telling the French players to stop marking the Swiss for this free kick. Is this for real?

The Swiss are much better than I thought. The French look all out of sorts. I don't think the system with Zidane and Henry works. Henry needs a free role, with a striker in the centre. When Zidane is playing the balls for Henry to run through to, then he's slow getting into the box.

Kudos to Wenger for playing a system which suits Henry (no crosses, players getting into the box quickly, etc)

Yes. I expected the Swiss to rollover (excuse the pun), and a French onslaught to ensue. Perhaps the lack of superiority on either side, is what disappointed me.
I have noticed over the last two world cups though, that the so called 'weaker' teams are getting stronger. I think on an International level, the gap is slowly closing.
Either that, or both teams were afraid to commit a lot forward, due to fear of losing their opening game. They will both have to be more positive in the following games though.

I can't believe I took a longer lunch to watch that garbage. What a yawner. And what's the big deal with Henry? That guy couldn't take a decent shot even if his name was Gretzky.
