I've got a new ipod, nothing special, one of the lower tier models, but, I'm looking for a free(or cheap) music web site. Any recommendations?

How about a recommendation for an inexpensive, yet mostly free of viruses, etc... site? I don't mind paying if the selection is good and the site is easy to use. I've felt ripped of in the past with difficult to navigate sites, complex download procedures and paying for an inadequate selection. I'm sure much of my problem is a lack of enthusiasm for learning how to navigate the site, etc... I want instant gratification with mnimal work!

iTunes is virus-free, but it's like $.99 plus tax per song. Sometimes you can find songs on Myspace.com by younger bands.

About 10 US cents per song. Virus free. Songs are encoded on order.

Thanks for the advice. I have decent virus protection, but, what precautions should I look at?

No precautions.

It's fine. Don't listen to anyone who hasn't used it.

The selection can't be beat, plus users post mainly entire albums.

When I used to use p2p the problem I had was not viruses, but screwed up files that just wouldn't play, or they would just screach. The download success rate was about 1 in 3.

I guess another reason I switched to allofmp3 was that my ISP shapes p2p bandwidth, so downloads would only trickle in. With allofmp3 it is http and I can download at full speed and use a download manager.

As far as limewire is concerned I have used limewire a lot. And you can without knowledge download some real nasty viruses, because I have, downloaded viruses and had a time getting the hundreds I downloaded out of my system. Like a dumbazz I forgot to check the files before opening it. My advice don't worry about it. Use limewire but CHECK THE DARN FILES BEFORE OPENING THEM. And if you see a virus delete it. Simple. If you don't...RIP. One thing good about it though, I am now an expert on virus prevention and removal.

The fuc... I mean the fascist IT folk have blocked the site. I'll have to play with it at home.

Thanks though.
