Good idea I reckon.....maybe we could follow this idea;
The implementation of the English language as the official language of the European Community.
"You will be pleased to know that The European Commission has just
announced an agreement, whereby English will be the official language
of the EU rather than German which was the other possibility. As part
of the negotiations, Her Majesty's government conceded that English
spelling had some room for improvement and has accepted a 5 year
phase-in plan that would be known as EuroEnglish."
In the first year, "s" will replace the soft "c". Sertainly, this will
make the sivil servants jump with joy. The hard "c" will be dropped in
favour of the "k". This should klear up konfusion and keyboards kan
have 1 less letter.
There will be growing publik enthusiasm in the sekond year, when the
troublesome "ph" will be replaced with the "f". This will make words
like "fotograf" 20% shorter.
In the 3rd year, publik akseptanse of the new spelling kan be expekted
to reach the stage where more komplikated changes are possible.
Governments will enkorage the removal of double letters, which have
always ben a deterent to akurate speling. Also, al wil agre that the
horible mes of the silent "e" in the language is disgraceful, and it
should go away.
By the 4th year, peopl wil be reseptiv to steps such as replasing "th"
with "z" and "w" with "v".
During ze fifz yer, ze unesesary "o" kan be dropd from vords
kontaining "ou" and similar changes vud of kors be aplid to ozer
kombinations of leters.
After zis fifz yer, ve vil hav a reli sensibl riten styl. Zer vil be
no mor trubls or difikultis and evrivun vil find it ezi tu understand
ech ozer.
ZE DREM VIL FINALI KUM TRU!! And zen ve vil tak over ze vorld!!

on a slightly more serious note, apparently kids spelling is going downhill as they arespending too much time on the internet and texting where they shorten thier words and spell them differently...
A sduty has shwon that it rlaely doesn't mtater how you slepl as long as the fisrt and last letetrs of the wdros are in thier cecrort plecas. The resoan for this is that our mdnis read wdors rather than inviddiual leettrs, so we can innatstly tell what word is inednetd even though the spnilleg is hoboroly wrong. No really. Scientists has peemrorfd steidus on this phonemonen. I can't gvie you a sgnlie link but I'm srue if you gogloe on it you'll fnid this inofrmitaon much bteetr prtesened eleshewre.

Originally posted by NordlysHmmm, I find it quite easy to read. I guess this is not true for everyone. I tend to see each word as a whole, so the first time I read a text (in swedish) about this, I didn't even realize it was horribly wrong until at least a sentence into the text.

Although this is no excuse to spell poorly. It just comforts me a little that even if I jumble the letters (by mistake of cuorse) people will still be able to read it. Mostly.
Originally posted by stockenHmmm... If anything, I am hyperlexic, definitely not dyslexic. I still find it a lot more difficult to read than normal writing.
