Here's a tasty wine recipe. It is cheap, easy to make and great results are easily achievable in not much time: -
3lb plums
1 punnet of strawberries
Sugar
Pectic enzyme
Yeast

Quarter your plums and remove stones. Cut the strawberries in half. Place them all in your sterile bucket and cover in boiling water. Leave to cool. When the water is tepid, add a tea spoon of pectic enzyme and leave for 24 hours. After 24 hours add your yeast be it straight to the fruit or from a pre prepared starter bottle, depending on what type of yeast you are using. Leave the must for 3 days and then sieve into a demijohn, squeezing as much juice as you can from the remaining fruit pulp. Take gravity of the must and add sugar accordingly to suit taste and preferred alcohol content. I prefer to take the gravity up to around 70. Rack the wine monthly until fermentation stops and then bottle. The wine is palatable straight after fermentation stops but the wine will be much better after 3 - 6 months in the bottle. I have not yet had one bad batch using this recipe. As the ingredients are mellow, they don't lend any nasty tarty tastes that some country wine recipes suffer.

Don't play chess for the next 3 days, Your Queen has a bad habit of dropping off the board in such circumstances! 😛

Forget the wine. Drop all but the vodka, add some dry vermouth (to taste not too much now) and a stuffed olive or two. Voila...heaven.
