I just remembered "My Cousin Vinny" with Marisa Tomei and Joe Pesci playing the leads. That was definitely worth a mention, though "Life of Brian" still occupies the #1 spot on my list. 🙂

Let`s not forget the Pink Panther films with the great Peter Sellars.

How about the funniest scene/line in your chosen film(s) everybody? I love the bit where the leader of the band explains why the volume knob on his amp goes from 0-11 (everyone elses only goes up to 10, but he has the ability to outdo them by turning his up to 11!)
spinal tap---when he gets trapped in the pod on stage. classic.

others; plane, trains and automobiles

"Life of Brian" for me.

More recently, one of the funniest films I have seen, and would recommend to anyone is "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back".

I also just watched "Scary Movie" for the first time and was expecting it to be terrible. It wasn't - it was very funny.

"Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back" is one of the best movies EVER , and it is the fifth in Kevin Smiths New Jersey Trilogy. Look for "Clerks","Mallrats","Chasing Amy", and "Dogma".
Also, "it" was so bad, compared to the book, it was funny.

Also, Paulie, Dan Akroyd and John Belushi (and John Candy) were better in "Blues Brothers".😀

EDIT! Anything by the Farrelly Brothers makes me laugh, 'specially "Theres Something about Mary" and "Me, Myself and Irene".😀😀😀😀😀

The truly funniest movie ever made was "The Exorsist". (sp?) True story... by the time the girls head started spinning, I was laughing so uncontrollably that the usher came and told me I would have to leave the theatre. I nearly didn't make it out! I was laughing so hard I almost choked on some popcorn. My wife was not amused. I bought her some flowers to make it up to her.

Top Secret (Val Kilmer) was a classic!

Airplane 1&2 always tickled me and I cried with laugher at how bad "Super Troopers" was!

While in a genre all to its own, I love Big Money Hustlas, by ICP.
Think of the kind of movie a high school kid would make if he had a 2 million dollar budget. You got it. Funny stuff for the right person.

How about "Tootsie" and "Jumpin Jack Flash" or how about the first "Ghostbusters"?

Peter Sellers at his best in the Pink Panther movies. Brilliant.

is that the one with 'the law of the road' - that was pretty funny?

this isn't the funniest of seen, but it's pretty funny: John Candy in the first half hour or so of Who's Harry Crumb?
