Anyone else had a ridiculously stupid insanely priced gas bill, British gas (like there's anything british about the damn company) sent me a quarterly bill for £375.😞


Edit: Huh just checked and what do ya know it is a British company always thought it was french.... well it's not all bad then.

Yes. It was powergen though. They suddenly decided that instead of spreading the annual bill over 4 equal direct debits (so you overpay in summer and underpay in winter) they would whack all 4 instalments to the level of winter usage so you pay for what you've used in winter and just line their pockets in summer. Some powergen employee must have got a bonus for that idea. 😠

so if you use £100 of gas in the winter quater, £50 for autumn and spring, and £25 for summer (totaling £225) you get charged £400?!?

if this is the case, i personally feel that you should not use your gas chamber in the winter, then use it to it's full capacity in the summer. see how they like it then!

You've got the maths exactly right but I don't have a gas chamber, just a garage full of vodka distillation vessels.😵

We have a open fire and a log burner, but they still kept putting out gas prices up, they've had 3 price increases this year already. bloody bastards.:'( (we are with southern electric).

You may want to invest in a new furnace. I did that last fall and my new gas budget dropped $35 a month.
