Out of curiousity, does a gay player move their pieces in a manner different than a straight player?
If not, what possible difference would it make to conspicuously seek out a gay (or straight) player? Why try to politicize an apolitical game?

Setting up a gay clan does NOT politicise the game, at least not when the clan doesn't yet exist, so has no slogan, and no common shared beliefs. What DOES politicise the game is small minded individuals who go out to hound and harass a chess player for doing something as harmless as talking about setting up a gay clan.
If you can't find it in yourself to wish the guy good luck, then just shut up.
