I was absolutely appalled and quite surprised too by reading all responses and counter arguments to my original gay thread in the general forum. Firstly, I would to emphasis that it was only a polite invitation and was not use any offensive language! To be honest I did not know that few people would be against such thing in this website. Chess is an intelligent game for open-minded people and still in the 21st century there’re many short-sighted people that not accepting the modern lifestyle of human being…for years and years even in England gay people live in fear of all kind of homophobias but friends: open your eyes, it has all now changed and laws has changed to more democratic, human respective for gay people and freedom, and even the recent new law of civil partnership for gay people that is remarkable victory for new era…. And even law in England prevents any kind of discriminations against gay and lesbian people both at work and in the social life….so of what I gathered from your arguments, your responses were discriminative and insulting and not welcoming at all…I’m admire of Red Hot Pawn and I love this website and try to introduce to more people but such homophobias by the small number of disrespectful minorities are not suitable for this website…..just want to thank you those who counter attacked those homophonic messages specially Freddie2006…..being gay IS NOT abnormal thing friend but against freedom and democracy in the 21st century is appalling and not acceptable by most people in the western world so it’s you who needs to change your attitude and respect others’ life style….and wakeup to 21st century life and freedom.(by the way, at the same time it was amazing that how many gay people welcome my ad and simply!)

I think you might well be hounded by the grammar police for the lack of punctuation in the above post.

There is a body of opinion on rhp that feels bullying people with poor punctuation is morally acceptable.

This discrimination must stop.

Edit: Thank you grammar police!

Out of curiousity, does a gay player move their pieces in a manner different than a straight player?
If not, what possible difference would it make to conspicuously seek out a gay (or straight) player? Why try to politicize an apolitical game?

"I think you will might well be?"
Some people here are being bullied with poor punctuation? The shame! We must make these people stop!

People seek out others who share some characteristic - for example gender, sexual orientation, or an interest - all the time. It seems to be a human thing. Just look at the clans, most of them have a subject and look for a certain group of players. I don't see how this is "politicising".

I'll give you that. The clans are somewhat uh, clannish. Maybe coolhanded should look there, instead of the general forums.
