If I click the ignore button which gbaway now offers me is it permanent, or can it be undone at some time in the future? Obviously I am putting GB's posts on permanent ignore, but there are other posters for whom a temporary ignore might be useful.
You don't need to read a post to start ignoring a poster either - it can be done from their profile page.
I've even included a 'peek' button so that you can see what a given post is whilst continuing to ignore their other drivel.

What, pray tell, is the point in coming to the General Forum if you are going to ignore anybody who hold opinions you consider "drivel?"
Some of the retardation is deep. Some less so.
The best way to deal with trolls is not to feed them - it's easier not to respond to stuff that you can't see.
Originally posted by orangutanHmmm, true. Will this script also block posts in reply to the retards?

The script blocks any posts by an igored user (there's a 'peek' button that can reveal it if you really want), but if someone replies to an ignored post and quotes it - then the quote shows. There's nothing in the quoted text that allows an easy identification.
If you use FireFox then you can try the script for free and with no obligation -

Originally posted by orangutanIs there a version without a peek button? It makes me feel dirty when I peek and sometimes the temptation is too much.

Originally posted by cadwahI had it, now it is gone... the old version just up-dated to having a peek button.

Regardless, you can ALWAYS hit reply and quote and see the text, so Peek is just another way to do it. There should be a super block version where you can't hit reply and quote or use the peek button... but my understanding is that orange Tang is working on something FAR MORE IMPORTANT now.
