@the-gravedigger saidThat is called generosity. The opening post speaks of friendliness as Trev33 pointed out. Personally Im wary of friendliness and would not confuse it with generosity. There is no correlation or connection, in my opinion. Friendly people are not necessarily generous and generous people are not necessarily friendly.
I give my nephew a set amount each month.
He has a young family and his wife stays home to look after the children.
@drewnogal saidWhat do you normally do when you're out walking your dog? 😲
When were you last generous?
Today I greeted all approaching fellow dog walkers with a friendly smile and a ‘Hi’ whilst keeping my wayward sheepdog under control with her leash and a soggy tennis ball in her mouth.
😉
@fmf saidIt's almost as if you are paying it forward to one of your future selves in the branching probability cloud. Who am I to judge the nobility of such a gesture?
I always tip taxi drivers here generously. I never know when I might benefit from their goodwill and need them to do the right thing by me if I am worse for drink or if I leave something - like my soggy tennis ball - behind in their car.
@kevin-eleven saidI’m generally friendly and helpful I suppose? I scoop the poop, rescue injured wildlife and have picked up beer cans and bottles from a farmer’s field 🙂

@drewnogal saidI really only meant a little joke-by-imaginary-contrast. 😉

@drewnogal saidI'm sure there's more from where that came from, and may Heaven help you. 😉
I gave you a thumb up, for your generous contribution to my thread.
@kevin-eleven saidI suppose you’re expecting one too?
