I've just seen a report about Chelsea-Man Utd. and was astonished by the wonderful goal scored by Ryan Giggs.
A shame that such a champion never played in Italy or had a competitive national team................
It was an absolutely awesome goal though. 1 in a million.

Originally posted by CorsairOh im not knocking anyone here, Hughes has made a massive difference and deserves all the credit he's recieved. You've got to admit though, Wales without Gigsy would be a much less potent force. He's a match winner.

Originally posted by marinakatombA common misconception: Ryan Giggs actually could never have played for England. I think he played for England Schoolboys, but that was based on the location of his school. He wasn't eligible for England.

Originally posted by marinakatombHmm, not sure I agree. Ryan Giggs has been playing for Wales for ten years or so but Wales have only posed more of a threat in the last three years. That may be because he's matured as a player, but I think it's very much more to do with having better depth than ever before: Bellamy, Speed, Savage, Koumas, Davies, Hartson, Delaney. For me, it's the presence of more good players to go with Giggs's excellence, rather than largely because of Giggs's excellence, that has seen Wales improve (along with Mark Hughes being a better manager than Bobby Gould et al).
