i've been given free reign to make christmas dinner for 9 people and 3 children this christmas and want your recipes for stuffing as i've not decided which one to do.

tips on how you make it and details of the taste will also help. i'll be trying a few out before then so keep them coming.

i had to give up my idea of lamb for xmas dinner to change the stuffing so make this good people.

Wish I had a good one for you... If I needed to make my own, I'd google search.

I'm not big on stuffing, but I like a hint of wine flavor for sure.

Some people like cornbread stuffing. I like a more traditional bread and sage stuffing. Too many carbs for this kid. I'll keep to the turkey and veggies. 🙂

I have one for hot Italian sausage stuffing. It was a hit on Thanksgiving.

It is most popular in the American South. Pepperidge Farms has a mix sold here. I'm not sure if they have it in NE. I didn't care for it much. It's like soggy cornbread. 😕

Stove Top brand is a good dressing made outside the bird, but it is costly if you need alot. Otherwise use 12 cups of coarse dry bread crumbs....no crusts....for a a 12 lb. turkey.....or roughly 1 cup per 1 lb. of bird. Melt 1 cup of butter in a skillet and stir in 3/4 cup diced onion. Cook until softened. Do not allow to brown! Stir in a small portion of the dry crumbs. Heat while stirring constantly. Turn into a deep bowl and add 1 1/2 cups chopped celery, using not only the stalks but also the leaves. Add 2 tablespoons salt, 1 teaspoon black pepper, 1 tablespoon thyme or sage. Stuff clean bird lightly ....DO NOT PACK TIGHTLY! The crumbs will swell when they are wet. The bird should be basted inside with melted butter.....in fact, rub melted butter over the entire turkey before stuffing it. Sometimes I have used hot chicken bouillon ( in place of water ), but then you can eliminate or reduce the salt. Bon apetite' I hope I spelled that right. And Trev...you were given free "rein"...not "reign". Interesting though. It could easily apply either way. In the old days of blinding blizzards, the rider did not try to guide his horse home. He gave him a free rein to find the way. Horses saved many lives that way.

i don't like google for recipes, if the recipe was any good it would not be available for free on the internet (i don't intent on paying the rhp people) but its more likely to be a real home cooking recipe which i want. plus if i wanted a poncy french stuffing recipe i could just open one of my cooking books but i haven't got $30 per person to spend on stuffing.
