I'm trying to gather information about how the General Public License used in GNU software can be altered to copyright music under the same basic terms.

Anyone have any leads?

you need the cooperation of the musicians, who unlike informatics professors tend to be not state-sponsored.

i'm a cooperating musician who wants to publish my music under the GPC to make it free and tradeable but not rip-offable. i think other musicians will adopt this idea as well as the music industry continues to move away from old Record Company sales models and to more individual production, promotion and distribution.

In most countries, copyright doesn't mean anything.
