thought its allowed to have 10 games for non star members, i got 7 but i cant make anymore challenges maybe it would soon
be for star members only, thought it would be sooner or later. i've been considering to be a star member myself but........ now
i'm trying to resign all my games but i can't, till my opponents make there move, for ages now it seem they dont want to make
their moves. can somebody help me remove my registration. the site is not anymore playing for fun and learning the game, its
all about ratings and making fun of others. goodbye and thank you all.
A PLAYER WHO HAS MADE NEARLY 5000 MOVES .BEEN HERE FOR SO
LONG! just doesnt WALK AWAY for no good reason ????? i thought that
this 10 game rule thing was a joke till you bring it up!! i havent heard
of such things. you have been here longer! please tell me. ive been
finishing my games here . when i come back ill need to start new
games. im all ears! please reply. this matter needs clarifying.!
You may have a point there GameKnight. There's too much of... well,
you seem to know. If RHP doesn't suit you, try another site, where
they PLAY. Chess, I mean. RHP is, as far as I know, unique in its own
particular way. This uniqueness will be positive to some, and negative
to others. Its uniqueness attracts also a a more or less well-defined
audience. I myself am not all the time so very happy with the too
much 'Words, words, words...' here. On the other hand this is very
likely to be an outlet for a particular social group, who can't get their
things off their chests elsewhere. So, RHP has a legitimate reason for
existence. It's up to you to make up your mind & eventually find a
site where you feel more at home. I, for one, am very happy at
ChessWorld, where chess is the main thing to enjoy. No rantings
there, though very chessy exchanges of opinions, criticisms, also
social. I've made several friends there. One opponent even sent me a
wonderful bouquet in hospital, which arrived a couple of hours after I
woke up from my operation. It made me very happy. Good luck
GameKnight!
how dare you advise a veteran rhp member such as grayknight to
take his chess and go elsewhere.!! hes been around here long enough
to know whats what! here. i remember a similar post by you under a
different nick about you leaving.SO why are you still here then. and
under a different knick. i know why! and it wasnt because of chess
either.! was it.! no. it wasnt! its because you found a personal friend
here. and not to play chess with either.! words words words. gosh
under your old nick thats all we heard from you.. words ,words, words
and about your ................... and about how much you need a friend
ect ect. grayknight has complained that he cant challenge any more
than 7 games, he thinks it is because he isnt a pawn star. i think that
this a serious technical matter and has nothing to do with chess or
words. if hes prepared to leave rhp over a technical difficuty then it can
be fixed and he would have no need to leave. you made a remark
about this matter. and i was most upset that you advise him to
leave.after you complained about the lack of care and social support
that fellow rhp members showed one another well you made a very
valid point and i supported it. but to personally recommend another
site because a friend sent you flowers! what about all those weird
twisted cards and personal mail i accidently received from you because
you put the wrong address on them. !i said to myself no this guy
needs a friend why hes ................................... physically
incapasitated.and in pain. so i threw them out.i never made an issue
out of it. because you were a fellow rhp player and was probally high
on pain killers at the time. but really! this is rhp not chessworld.
please promote rhp in this forum. or maybe it might be time for you
to leave now you are much better.! so its rhp here!.... chessworld there
okay. as we say here ITS YOUR DECISION.!
Sorry stevens & grayknight
My thinking goes a bit faster than my 1 right hand typing, and I have
been too rash, I suppose. The real message should have been: If
you (grayknight) can't play enough games at RHP, there's nothing
wrong in playing more games at another site, and, indeed, cwrld is
good, and still remain a loyal RHPr.
About the other question I would like to answer, if Chris & Russ don't
remove it. But since you had the right & the opportunity to do it, I
think it's only fair I can make my stand as well.
I'll try to be as brief as possible. No ranting. Just facts.
1. I did not leave RHP for other reasons than:
a. the ranting, though I like the English expression: 'Wordplay is
Swordplay'.
b. for techical reasons: I'm used to print my current position
diagrams. I like to analyse at the board, but it's not within my
capability to move pieces around and restore the initial position. The
RHP diagrams you can't print. Only the pieces come out, but not the
board. Might it be my old fashioned HP 500 Ink Jet? Pity.
2. How was I to know you got personal mail for someone else? I
received personal mails from that RHPr and just hit the 'reply to this
mail' key.
3. It's true, many of these mails were very personal (from BOTH sides
that is).
4. Have you also read the mails on CHESS too? Remember my 8-page
mail, exclusively on chess and nothing else?
5. This person sent a mail 'X wants to talk to you'. This was to be at
MSN Messenger. I was also sent explicit instructions what to do, as I'm
still a bit of a computer-ingoramus. We chatted there, and I was
getting even more personal details (home address and others).
I specially bought a mic as suggested by this person, even advising
me not to use ICQ, but the MSN Messenger.
6. At some point this person, at an unbelievably impossible moment,
just disappeared out into the blue of the Web. Unbelievably
impossible so, giving it the benefit of the doubt on the received info,
because of situations described as dramatic (no exaggeration as you
know very well), making me rightfully so more than 'just worried' albeit
the thousands of miles distance between us.
7. Now that I have seen that all is well, there's no more reason to
worry. On the contrary!
8. I've always been discrete about this and appreciate you are too.
Thanks stevens.
9. Recalling some of my entries, I must admit to having been perhaps
a bit pathetic. Apologies. It happens sometimes when one is a loner.
10. Don't forget that my native tongue is not English. Also, I'm not so
acqainted with the 'special' language used on the Net. Neither am I
versed in other than British English.
11. Can we leave it at this? Otherwise it must go through personal e-
mail addresses.
I couldn't be briefer. Kindest regards.
thanks for the explaination.! and your loyality to rhp. but greynight
wether he stays or leaves is his decision! but has raised the matter of
only being able to challenge a set number of opponents???? i believe
this affects all here ! and i am seeking clarification about this before
others decide to leave for this reason! i have no knowledge of such
limitations being imposed but i havent challenged anyone lately!
Thanks for understanding, stevens. Let's leave the matter at this
point, as it is beyond RHP.
I'm only playing 2 games here for the moment. I've limited my
games to 12 (have only 12 boards set up here and there's no room
for even 1 more) and I said I can't play on screen. Playing 10
elsewhere. Keeps me busy enough.
Neither do I know of any number of games-limit of 10 or so. When I
visited the public games area I've seen players at many more games
in progress, also those without a * attached to their nicks. Search me.
What are you trying to be?? A Union Leader?
And yes...you "challenge" alot of people right here.
Dave
ps...using all of those !!!!! makes people think that you are
yelling...and have you ever heard of the shift button to make caps? Or
do you type like that just to throw people off as of someone else you
might be?
