Hi folks. Some of you may have read Graham Greene's "THE POWER AND THE GLORY" somewhere in this present life. Perhaps you will find this post on the Vatican censorial investigation of it, somewhat interesting...

Perhaps.

I haven't read that one but have read several others. Very revealing even when writing an espionage tale.

I read "The Power & The Glory" about 6 years ago. I've forgotten a lot of it, but I do remember it being a great book. I should probably pick it up again.

I'll check out the article tomorrow.

Thanks.

i remember being very moved by the plight of the whiskey priest when i read the book many years ago, along with most of Greene's other novels and a two-volume bio. I think wiser heads within the Catholic Church prevailed with the decision not to pursue the matter further. very interesting article, thanks.

I thought he was great in the short-lived series Wolf Lake.

Me as well. The Power and the Glory and The Heart of the Matter are two of his best books. In fact, he had many fine books.....

I am pleased he has left such an impression.

For me, 'A Burnt-OUt Case,' and 'The COmedians' are also quite good.
