A celebration of the wheel of the year, a cross-quarter day between the autumn equinox and the winter solstice. Deep pagan roots. It's a secular holiday now, which is a nice victory for those who love nature and value the old ways.
I like the way it validates the imagination and the inner child, and helps us own and master our fear of death.
But whatever, it is time to party! I like some magic mushrooms and a slow walk downtown. Around midnight go visit the old cemetery on the bluff over the river. Spark a bowl and be really quiet.
What are you up to?
