I particularly see no reason why it shouldn't. This is a great site, and I really enjoy playing here. And it's getting better over and over. Soon, we'll have games databases, condicional moves, new tournaments models, all as promissed by Russ and Chris.

Of course, there are some non respectful posts in the forum, but that's just how life goes. Everywh s I understand, the recommend post system is still working. So I don't see any big change.
We were talking about the forums. The changes to the rec system will make no difference to the tone or quality of posts.

The changes to the rec system were the consequences of a (pretty recent) coordinated operation to create and sustain a completely bogus "war" that 99 per cent of people had (and certainly now have) no interest in.

Russ had to act, if only to shut people up and end the pollution of the RHP forums by a very vocal minority whose sole purpose seemed to be to denigrate the forums and flood them with posts saying how terrible they were, how dominated by conflict, etc. Not good for business.

It's all deeply ironic and even some of the people involved (you for example) don't seem to have a clue what your "leader" is doing.

Read through the forums. This was not an isolated group of people. All sorts of users, from all sorts of backgrounds, felt that the system was flawed. The vast silent majority of innocent users that wondered into the forums only to be assaulted by a horde of rec-hunters were decidely against the system.

Only a small vocal minority of users wanted to see the score card system continue, presumably because their Wreck Count massaged their egos.

Go to a yahoo forum or any other forum and find a kinder and more level headed one where people are allowed to speak their minds. When you do, get back to me.

You and your clan mates write the most stupid ‘teen crap’ love-troll garbage I’ve ever seen, and it is all spam. Why not just stay out of the public forums? Russ’ change isn’t going to change anything, people will always tell people they are idiots when they are being idiots.

Again we disagree. I think that forums should be open and available to all RHP users regardless of race, color, ethnicity, language, or Clan affiliation.

I don't think that it is fair or reasonable for one group of forum users to tell another group of forum users that they should leave.

Now, I love the banter and would be happy to banter back and forth with anyone. And that certainly can include calling me an idiot. But, if a group of people follows me or anyone else around the forum calling me names, telling me to leave, and gang-wrecking each other's abusive posts; I don't find that appropriate. Feel free to disagree with me if you like.

There wasn't a vast outcry; throughout the history of RHP forums there's been the occasional "get rid of recs" post; generally these have been of little consequence, and little importance, precisely because no one took recs seriously. It was only when a few people made recs an issue (deliberately and for their own reasons giving the impression they were being misused) that a few more people spoke out against them. That fake controversy - over something so trivial - is what has brought down the standards of the board.

Since the perpetrators are still here, I imagine the action taken (which I don't disagree with, in the current climate) will make no difference to the boards whatsoever.

Recs were only ever remotely important to those who wanted to create an argument.

Why do you always make it a group thing? There were 5 or so users with many more recs than I had that were not in my clan and got those recs for abuse.

My 1000+ recs were for help, humor, and insight... but they are all but gone now.

I've seen you and others from your clan call users here carps when they don't agree with your beautiful vision of a public forum. They were not even in my clan! My clan isn't who you are after, it the general public.

There is one real solution, and that is close the forums. I hope you fail that one.

First, let me say that I enjoy the opportunity to debate this issue with you on an adult level. You're obviously very intelligent and quite capable of forming and expressing a lucid argument.

At this time, I want to dispute one of your points. Again and again and again I have heard people express the opinion that wrecks were worthless or that "no one took recs seriously." However, since wreck totals were reset about a week ago, I have heard substantial wailing and lamentation over the loss of wrecks. Yesterday a user offered his (or her) wrecks to the first responders and those wrecks were gone in minutes! In other threads, users are espousing the implementation of a new "scoring" system. One Clan leader is proudly displaying his former wreck totals in his forum profile. So, obviously they were important to some, possibly many, users.

Since he won't answer, I will.

Because he's a FECKING IDIOT and a FECKING INSTIGATOR of the worst kind. And he will not LET IT GO. He just keeps ON and ON and FECKING ON. Baiting everyone to argue, keeping this boring FECKING drama alive.

FECK y'all.

Have a nice weekend.

If forum or forums are closed it won't be the fault of TSM. It will be the fault of the bullies and abusers, not the fault of those who complain about the bullying and abuse.

Happiness usually involves a pair of wiggling milkshakes. Doing the nipplechasing without using your hands. And that's all I have to say about that.

Yummy, yummy.
