Its pretty sad when a country needs to make a law to give people a chance at a job because they would have a lower chance because of their skin color. I always laugh when I hear this Christian group called Sonic Flood talk; right whent hey get to the part where they say that the original Americans left a country of tyranny for religious freedom. More like they left a country with laws so they could go off and make their own starting with kidnapping people from another country and making them into slaves. So, go and be proud of all these wonderful things you have done.
The greatest things, by far, that ever came out of the USA were the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution with the Bill of Rights.
We can be proud of that, Americans. Particularly in these times. It shows that we can do better because we have.
In that regard we can always celebrate.
Edit Oops, I left out stealing a country from people who already lived there, slaughtering them and forcing them to live on small pieces of land called reservations, so you could keep track of them. Wouldnt want them to mix with the "americans" huh. Yet another thing to be proud of I guess.

We have plenty of racist morons in our country; so do you. Yes, we had slavery. So did your country. So did most countries at some point in their history. Your point? And no, it wasn't exactly religious freedom that brought the first recorded Europeans here -- it was the freedom to practice their own religion. It's not the same. Those who came with them and those who moved with them to their early towns had to follow the same strict religion; they didn't have freedom of religion. No country is perfect, or even awesome (although Canada looks pretty enticing at the moment). But I guess if you want to be the poop fairy and criticize each country that has a momentary celebration, go for it. Be sure to bash all those nations in the finals of the World Cup -- I'm sure they have flaws too. Should I look for the Canada Day thread to see if you trashed them too?

edit: Study English history much? Where do you think those nasty immigrants came from? Where else did England invade?

What productivity has America had from going into another country?

Go save the world somewhere else. Clean up your own countries mess first.
