It's 11:00 pm here... gotta get up at 5:30 am so I have to log off soon. But I would like to make a comment about the thread.

People need to find a job doing something that they enjoy! I realize that if you are a youngster in the work force this could take some time. 😕 But the important thing, in my opinion, is to do this:

1) Put your education before everything else - and select a field that you are interested in.

2) Then find a mate and settle down... 😵

3) Start a family! <GASP!>

Yeah, that's my personal opinion about how to be successful in life. If you are too young to understand it then don't bash me,just put it aside. If you are too old to do the above... well, hell, then go see the Star Wars movie and have a few drinks afterwards. 🙂

After feeling a little worn out recently, I decided to put myself to bed the moment I had finished putting the kids to bed.

A 7:30pm until 7:30am sleep, then a quick 2.5 mile run in the rain this morning, and I feel brilliant.

I'm sorry, but I am going to bash you 😛

Seriously, that may have been the right path for you, and indeed a lot of other people, but surely it cannot be the only path to happiness and success in life?

And yes, I am too young to write off the possibility of starting a family entirely, but I don't see why it must be the be all and end all of a successful life.

how do you get your kids to sleep until 7:30 am? Please tell me-tomorrow my aunt is coming with my two cute little cousins... only problem: The guest room is next to my room... *argh*

I agree with arrakis that education is paramount, it is a shame that not everyone is inclined to feel the same way. But I disagree with his other points. Life is so much more than points 1, 2 and 3; settling down is good for some but not for others and not everyone feels the need to start a family. I personally feel that people should see as much of existence as they can, go to as many countries, take part in as many cultures and do as many new things as possible. If at some point you wish to settle down along the way, good for you. With any luck your travels and vast experiencs may find you just the right person (they rarely hide out in your local neighbourhood) to do this with.

We're only here for a pathetically small amount of time and we shold fill that time with as much as stuff possible. Now, if I could just take my own advice and get out of this dead end job and do something....

I understand the feeling a person may have when someone else tells them how to live their life. I don't mean to do that. I often give advice based on experience but it's just my opinion and I don't want it to be taken as "this is what you have to do".

In my case I made the mistake of NOT doing what I learned I should've done. Yeah, I got my girlfriend pregnant out of high school, so I married her. Then it took me a long, long time to work my way thru school and into a good job. 🙁 So I was just trying to pass on something I personally learned the hard way.
