I'd have to agree. The guy (or girl??) just said he/she thought it was odd, but misslead has automatically turned it into an issue of sexism. A man talking dirty to a woman wouldn't be so lightly taken, so in fact the reverse is true that in this case the women seem to have an advantage.
And if it makes people play worse maybe I should try it...
Lets not forget, also, that children use this site, and it's impossible to tell a players age from their username (unless it's in the profile.

This reminds me of why the dress code was instituted in chess tournaments. In the USCF before the dress code I remember a tournament held in Las Vegas where one of the female players went to the hotels pool before the round. Starting time comes round and I was sitting patiently waiting for my female opponent. She finally showed up about 10 minutes later and she was wearing a bikini. Well after the opening was over I decided to play her game and off came my tie. After her move I stared at her and unbuttoned my top two buttons and smiled at her. Oddly enough she complained to the TD that I was harrassing her. He told her to go to her room and get dressed on her clock. Funny thing was she was in another hotel on the strip (yes i did win the game) 🙂

Did the orignal poster consult with the player we can all trace?
It is wrong on two counts:
I did not want to spell it out,but the hounds will be looking down his game list now.That is wrong.
If it is true,why do we need to know?
Recap:we don't need threads like this and don't start trails that can be traced.
The mods are good at taking things away.They should never have allowed this thread.
The thread was poison.It should not have been allowed through.
What comes after is a result of mods not doing their job.

But if people do do a bit of detective work and find the 'woman' involved well....s/he did say the things s/he said, so it's really their own fault of they get found out.
Personally the idea of someone talking dirty to me over a chessboard just cracks me up. If stories like Feivels were more common chess would become hugely popular overnight.

MissLead: I think this is a good use of the forum as it allows others to voice their concerns so that Russ and Chris can understand the position of caring members of this site. If someone is using the site in an inappropriate manner, and I believe cyber sex qualifies, then they deserve no courtesy whatsoever. If Russ and Chris see that many of us feel that something needs to be done they can feel confident in deciding to take action. If this is handled one on one then they have to weigh the possibility that only the complaintant has a problem with what happened.
Oh and I apologize for not writing this is prose format. 😉
