-Removed-Yes, antihistamine is the standard pill for hay fever or allergies.
If Benadryl doesn't help, you can try Zyrtec (Zyrtec also should not cause drowsiness as much as Benadryl may, Zyrtec is more expensive, though).
The next step up from oral antihistamines is an intranasal corticosteroid spray. See a doctor for advice concerning these. They have possible side effects, but are generally considered safe. They usually have to be taken for several days before peak effect.

either made me sleepy or wired, not good...
this will not work for everyone, and prolly only those with a slight allergy to pollen, but, gramma always made me wash my hands and face real good with soap and cold water...
still works fairly well to this day...
