so i bought a new netbook and i'm trying to connect it to my wireless network. i'm being asked for my network key, i don't remember it and for the life of me i can't find it on this computer. help.

which is where?

i went into the advanced properties of the network connection and it shows the network key blocked out, so i can change thing on this computer using my network key but i can't see what the network key is. anywhere.

I think you need to access your router via your notebook. Whilst this may be the correct solution, I of course have no idea how to do it!

i have access to the router, i just need the network key to connect to my network.

Check on the router - some companies slap a sticker with it on underneath or on the side.

Failing that, it should be somewhere in the documentation you got with it.

Failing that, what model router is it?

Open a browser window and type

http://192.168.1.1

Press enter. A password box should appear.
The default is
Username : Admin
Password : admin

Unless the default info has been changed it should work.
Otherwise 🙁

If you get in, go to the security page and change the password.
