Help please

Ok i just switched from one service provider to another,and although I can connect to the internet,I cant get back onto MSN its says "gateway error with yellow triangle and exclamation mark in it,and also outlook express isnt working either as when i go to check my messages it disconnects me from the internet,need some advice before the comouter goes through the window please...isp provider think its something I have done (how could they!!)

Your outlook express may be set to disconnect after it checks your mail.
I would so recomend looking into Highspeed access (DSL, Cable) for your provider though. the access is a permanent one, and so much faster than any dail-up.
as for MSN, sorry I am not certain as for the error.

forgot to say cant get broadband here in the wilderness so its got to be dial up... but will check to see if its set to disconnect after checking emails,but dont think its even getting that far....

on MSN, once you get the error message, there should be an option to "repair" or "debug" or something like that.

if outlook is set up to disconnect from internet after checking for mails, you should be able to change that in the options.

some ISP's-i think-use proxy servers, so fiddle about with your proxy server settings on msn. and scrap OE and get thunderbird - something like 80% of computer viruses are contracted through OE...

Sounds like something didn't get configured right when you switched ISPs and it's still trying to send through the old ISP.

cheers guys,have gone back to an old setting got rid of symantec its conflicting with something and now off to a flying start..... got back oe and downloading msn again but already have firefox and thunderbird ready to go... its just weaning myself off the oe that worries me slightly,but thanks for your help

oi...moosey... all sorted back up and running in fine form now ie oe msn all fired up so thanks for your input
