I as a christian can understand why the Islamic world is so upset. Everybody knows that they are very sensitive about their religion (they even would die for it) so mocking their head prophet is probably a very bad idea.
So Denmark instead of condemning the cartoons and apologize for the fault came up with this we are democratic and have freedom of speech yadayadayada thing.
Seriously those people are not to taken lightly.
So now every state should condemn the aggressions and the cartoons and try to lighten the moods wherever possible or not ?
And concerning the Danish products ?
I as a German (we are the gods of beer brewing !) deny to drink a Danish beer. The only good thing coming from denmark so far is Hot Dog and ? ok Just the Hot Dogs.
Allright man Supersize my hot dog but don´t dare to serve me a danish beer !

Similarly, if it's a choice between giving up my Guinness, Irish rashers and English Stilton cheese, and replacing them with Carlsberg, Danish bacon and Danish blue cheese, this would want to be some serious freedom of speech I am defending with my mammoth sacrifices.
I might opt instead for the pastries, even if they're not really Danish. It's that or buy a new Great Dane dog. Why couldn't a country with a decent cuisine and stuff I'd like to buy have made a stand? Typical.
Seriously, though- stand together in the free, civilised world, or before long we'll be living on the other side of that divide without having moved house, if you catch my drift.
