Help with Open Office: changing fonts after typing.

Does anyone know in OO if you can type a page in one font and change your mind about the font later and change the whole page to a new font? I don't want to type a whole page over just to change the font if there is a way to change it after the fact! Thanks.

Never mind, I fingered it out🙂 You have to highlight the paragraph or whatever and then change the font. That was getting frigging annoying retyping stuff just to change the font!

If you're not sure what to do in Open Office, then reformatting the hard drive is a sure way to correct the problem.

It does everything MS Office does, just not in the same way. There is a period of adjustment, but once you get used to it, it's a pretty good program. Trouble is most of us were spoon fed MS Office our whole typing lives, so it's a hard thing to break.

Yeah I agree, I have OO too. It basically does everything MSO does and is not that different - some settings are on different places but the rest is just the same. Once you get used to it you want nothing else... definitely worth not spending money on MSO.

Absolutely, except when you start using the VBA - then there is nothing like MSOffice. I just have Home and Student installed and it is more than affordable - R700 here, about $90 or EUR60.

I'm actually using Google Docs alot at the moment, OpenOffice for the database when I need it, and Office H&S for actual work.
OO is fine for normal run of the mill stuff, but almost every document I use has VBA embedded, so OO falls flat on its face.

Can you show me some specific examples where VBA is needed and that function cannot be done in OO?

No. I don't know what is supported in the newest version. I think I checked out OO 2.3 and even their macros were buggy at best.
