In other browsers the tool window has a toolbar submenu but I can't find such a thing in Chrome. I don't like unwanted toolbars added. I usually don't let that happen but I was in a hurry, had been off work for 3 days and wanted to get the thing over with.
I just don't get the huge exodus from Firefox to Chrome. Most of the people I know have switched to Chrome. I moved to Firefox back when "security" was the big buzzword and I slowly realized that IE was for fools if they wanted a secure PC. And now those same people who espoused a "secure" PC are now running over to Chrome. Chrome is the browser of Google. I'm not sure I want Google knowing every detail of my online activities.

Sorry, but I still see a need for a "secure" PC, so I'll stay with Firefox, thanks.

You know, a funny thing happened using Chrome, not sure it would not have happened with FF too but I went online and searched for a portable shortwave radio, found the one I wanted, a great radio for the price, BTW, like 120 bucks and it has features of a radio 3 times the price, a Tecsun 660. Anyway, I get the radio delivered, it works fine, and the next time I go to Chrome, I get this ad, Oh Sonhouse, we have these GREAT antenna's for portable shortwave radio's and those ads keep popping up so I think you have something there. There must be keystroke loggers sniffing around in the background.

Did you ever read my post about the synths in Culture?

hehe, he says as he pulls open his long coat, a dozen antenna's insideπŸ™‚

I went to Chrome for the same reason, FF was dreadful slow, not much faster than IE, which is a disaster waiting to happen. I think IE would slow down a Titan.

I'm using both Chrome and Firefox right now.
Firefox is my browser of choice, and I use it for every site but one. I have a lovely collection of add-ons and scripts and it loads pages just as slowly as Chrome does, making it clear that the problem is external to the browser.
Chrome is what I'm using only for the Red Hot Pawn beta site. There is only one reason for this: my current collection of Firefox addons includes something which makes the beta site way too hard to read, and I'm not going to spend hours sorting that out for a beta site. I haven't decided yet what I'll do after the beta goes live.
I quite like the Chrome page, but I'm not keen on the Google connection and haven't got time right now to start searching for addons to make it work properly for me.

So true.

Recent problems myself with FF. It just locks up. I think it maybe something to do with Adobe Flash PLayer as sites displaying any content make it much worse. If I look at Task Manager then 'PLugin Container' is swallowing all of my resources like a ho! πŸ˜›

If I terminate this proces then all is well but all the flsh content is stopped too. Can't really figure out a way around it. I have tried updating Flash, Java and other FF add ons to no avail.

I am thinking about tryiong Chrome.

I have also considered that maybe my P4 proccy just can't handle the demands of The Internet any more and might havr to splash out.

I don't have any toolbars added as I abhor them, and Malware scans show little to no threats. Maybe my PC is just obsolete. πŸ™

What is the P4 Proccy? Is that your router?

I've read through this whole thread and I don't understand a single thing you've all been talking about. Firefox? What's that a guided missile? Chrome? I have some on my cars. IE? Is that for example? Guess I'm computer illiterate. My dog turns it on for me.

I feel like I just walked into a car body shop with
all this talk of tools and chrome bars.

Hope it's a Shelby Mustang. πŸ™‚

lol. SOrry but I wish my router was that advanced. No it's on my MoBo. πŸ˜›

PS I've just run CCleaner and everything is running a lot smoother now. Must have had a build up of too much cack in there. Temp files, cookies etc.
