I have just been given a bottle, and i've never tried it before.
What is the best way to drink it ?
So, don't worry about the formalities and just flush that thing down, mate!

Drink it pure at room temperature in a balloon glass. A fancy way is to slightly warm the glass before pouring in the cognac, that helps release the aromas.
A standard cognac can be used in cocktails (many recepies available), and even served on the rocks, but don't do that if it is a more luxurious one, that would be a waste.

Oh well, I am not an elegant or knowledgeable drinker myself, but I've heard that straight is how "it should be", although youngsters mix it with coca-cola and some ice cubes.
Why not trying both?

a touch more caramel (they all have some) for sweetness in the aftertaste... 😵
Fill the balloon glass with very hot tap water and let it stand for five minutes. Empty and wipe dry. Pour in the cognac... 😀 Sniff & sip!!!
