this phrase, and it's variations ('that get's my rec' etc...) seems to becoming popular all of a sudden, often constituting the entire of the post.
I'm not 100% sure why but it irritates me, but why is it necessary? Do people want to be recognised for giving certain others recs? Is it a lazy way to say I agree with what you're saying without any effort to explain why?

I think it is more:
Treat other's how you'd like to be treated.

People like to have a high rec-post count, just like in other forums where people like to have a high post count. They think the higher the number, the more respect they deserve, I suppose.

I have no objection to people giving recs, that's what they are there for. I am just highlighting the current trend to post that you have just given someone a rec. and asking why people suddenly need to publisise the fact?

Johan (Brain), you're a git 😉

I only announce that I'm responsible for the rec when I give recs as an expression of contempt. When I keep silent, or say something like ''Good post, here's why...'' then I'm sincere.
