Sure, and if I'd known I'd have posted there, but from what I saw the previous thread didn't touch on what I'm asking, that being, have you felt disappointed and let down by meeting your hero because they weren't to your liking.

When I used to have heroes, I had the fortune to meet Robert Plant. Now, whilst my real hero at the time was Jimmy Page, meeting Plant was a pretty close second. He was coming out of Purves on Tottenham Court Road witha a woman who (due to her age) I can only presume to be his attractive niece. I stammered and splurted out that I was a massive Led Zep fan and he took the time to have a quick chat with me and insisted I must be too young to be a fan. All in all he was very nice. But as I said in the other thread, heroes aren't my thing.

I used to live down the road from him, I know a pub he regularly drinks in and I understand from the regulars he is a very good bloke.

I don't have heroes as such but some people are important to me, only for reasons I won't go into I feel very let down by one of them at the moment.

I've never had a hero. Maybe your thread would do better if it used the term "idol" instead of hero?

But then, I've never had an idol either. 🙂

This is going to sound corny, but my father was my hero. When I was little, I thought there wasn't anything he couldn't do. When I got older, I realized there was a lot he couldn't do, but he was still a man I admired. I wish I were more like him. He died 15 years ago.
