Hi Mag! No I didn't figure it out, yet. Tried, but without success.
However, being able to print the diagrams is very essential for me, for
me not being able to play 'on screen'. If you have a solution, Mag,
then PLEASE don't wait a sec longer to instruct me how to go about it. I
have WORD, yes. But you'd better keep in mind I'm a bit 'retarded'
when it comes to technical/mechanical things. Psychologists already
found THAT out when I was only 12, which is ages ago. It was
confirmed when I had to do my military service in the Belgian army.
By the way, I'd rather like the Java-script diagrams: coming close to
the natural wooden board & pieces and, that's nice!, very, very
printable. Help me out, Mag!
PS
I wrote Chriss & Russ about this print-thing, but never got a reply.
I responded in the site ideas forum just now.
Hopefully we can get it to work that way. Let me know. If what I
suggested doesn't work, I'd be happy to work with you on figuring it
out via email.
The other way I'm thinking of - the way that involves WORD - is WAY
MORE complicated! (Ouch, right?) It involves installing a
Word "macro" that is available called "FEN2DIAG" and some free
truetype chess fonts. You then get diagrams of the game like one
sees in books.
All that is difficult for me to describe how to do. Let's see if we can get
the RHP web page printed correctly first! That should be much easier -
I hope!
Yes Mag, perhaps a good idea to work it out through e-mail, or even
better via MSN Messenger, if you got that one. Here's my e-mail
address, and I do hope no one will abuse this:
jan.pot@pandora.be
or
cervenakovas@hotmail.com
Let's sort it out and publish -positive!- results on the Forum. I can
imagine there are more players here who'd like to print out there
positions properly.
You see, I'm for instance not a driver; always use public transport. Or:
waiting in hospital, doctor's cabinet, in stations, etc., I often take a file
with me with the prints of my current games. Saves time and is fun. I
can't get bored that way.
Cheerio to all! Jan
