it may be only for a while. Look at the rates. One loss against any one in the top 20 - 30 makes 5 to 10 places difference. And I did loose
against Bessyboo last week (brought me back from 8th position till 14th), and I have more bad games. But that's what they are: games 🙂

Don't feel bad...our bud Boby Fisher has me toasted but I am fighting
in hope for a draw..so I will slip too.

LOL, You think dropping 6 position is bad. Here in the crowd at 1200
and 1300, We lose one game we drop somewhere about 50 positions.
The nice side to it, winning a gamewe jump up about 50 positions. I
was at about 600th a week ago, I'm close to 300th now.

Fully agree with you, John. I just wanted to emphasise that all these rankings have a very relative value, and sometimes a volatile one. I
will not sleep better or worse while moving up/down that ladder. But the game itself may have that effect.

Beating me twice might have helped you up the table a bit; I think I'm over-rated on this site 🙂
But nevertheless I did enjoy the games. At least I understood roughly what was going on in those
games; when my pieces get slaughtered, shoved in a corner or left unable to make any useful
moves as my opponent goes in for the kill, I like to know why, rather than staring in complete
incomprehension as I have in past games 🙂

Thanks. But I am probably overrated as well, and perhaps a lot of
other high-ranked players, because there are a lot of real good
players around here.

If you want to see me in another role, just look at my game with
Bessyboo. Around 20 moves and I'm gone back to my toys. But full
credit to her, because it was not that obvious, although she makes it
look like that 🙂
