Hi from New Zealand..
After a long career in the police and then corporate computer supply I left the city and find myself content managing a unique little stockman and western saddlery-outfitter (two years now).
I've grown very fond of the working horse people (breakers,whisperers,cowboys,stockmen,trekkers,farriers,race-jockies,polo and polo-crosse players, even campdrafters and of course breeders that come through the store with tales of hill country stock drives, extreme trekking and some crazy mishaps.
Our Rodeo boys and girls come through regularly too.
My wife was a three day eventer and show jumper... we like a good horse ride up in the hills near our town.
I prefer western and like to ride long, relax and trust my friends horses that I ride. (Big Clyde X's cos I'm a big fella)
Who's into horses and where's your favourite trail ride.
What's your favourite Rodeo event and or rider.
Who's making tack and saddles? I love good tack and read the Western Horseman Mag.
Any gotta problem.. I may be able to check it out and get back with an answer.

We have 35 rodeos from Oct to April. Not bad for such a small country.
We have a few really good reiners here inc a res world champ 6kms from home.
Do you have a lot of people changing from pony club to western?
They are here in there droves...seeking fun away from the posh set.

mmmh I gav up horseriding about half a year ago... not the horseys, ya see, t'was the people. Snobs. Every single friggin one of them. God do I hate them.
Might take it up again sometime, but only when I've found another place... meaning not as long as I'm living here ðŸ˜
One day a huge Texan rancher was in the shop when that happened.. he turned round and said "lady if yer hoss caint take the saddle it caint do the werk" The snooty lady walked out.. the rancher's wife said she was proud to drag him away from the ranch for first time in 30yrs...
Working horse people are fun go for a ride with them..
