If you like spiced rum Capt. Morgan is pretty good stuff. Trader Vics makes a good hot buttered rum mix.

I'm not sure you are supposed to use spiced rum, but I suppose you could if that is what you like.

I would rather not use a mix.

I'm planning on taking a mug with me while the kids are trick-or-treating. 😀

Agreed. Get the Trader Vic's stuff. It's tasty. Follow the directions. I think standard Bacardi rum will do.

We used to make a great fruit punch with Bacardi 151, talk about a kick that stuff is the life of any Keg party. Just make sure you keep a lid on the top and a tap at the bottom or you will be drinking cig butts, worm dirt or anything else someone decides to trash. And Morgans spiced Rum is great for cakes.

Hot Buttered Rum

A hot buttered rum is a warm alcoholic beverage made with light rum, butter, sugar, and cloves mixed with hot water.

Ingredients:
1 oz. light rum
1 tsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. butter
4 cloves

Glass:
Coffee mug

Procedure:
Mix sugar, butter, cloves and rum together in mug and stir.
Fill mug with hot water and stir again.

Is this really the right recipe? Adding butter to a drink just sounds wrong.
