How about some chess ????

I've been a lurker for quite some time of these forum and really the
level of discussion is getting sooo low ... I was reading the latest
thread ('Things get out of hand'😉 and really I thought it was a
discussion between teenagers ... Who cares if you're first on the table
or the 1000th ??? I don't understand how you can keep talking about
ranking, a** kicking and so on ....

I think a lot of people on these forum need to grow up. You might be
good chess player but you really need to ajust your attitude (I don't
point finger to someone in particular. It's an overall feeling)

One might get the impression from reading these forums that chess is a fantasy game. Is it D&D,
or some other fantasy game that you play?

D&D = "Dungeons & Dragons" - the original role playing fantasy game
that was launched in the 80's(?), which involved imagination & such
strange devices as a 20 sided dice. It took over the lives of many
teenaged boys (& girls? I didn't know any) who prefered to sculk in
their basements pretending to be "Tharg the Barbarian" with their
friends instead of getting out into the real world : and who can blame
them? It's nasty out there.
