How Come?

I have noticed earlier that some subscribers have got a different star look. Most of us are the same, but for instance you have bbarr (there are many others), his star is different! Is he some kind of a moderator or some sort of an admin?

Just wondering how come his star is different than ours?

We have wings, I think this means we have to resubscribe annually, Whereas those without wings only pay once.

The people without wings joined when the site first started, and subscribe once (forever). However, they still see subscription adds.

When the site originally started (maybe after a wholely free period? I don't know), subscribers subscribed for a one off, lifetime fee. Subscribers at that time will never have to pay subscription again.
