do you have animation turned off on your browser at home? ... maybe due to slower bandwidth? ...

find the Internet Properties dialog (for your browser) and search around, look for something like "enable animation in graphics".

broadband is fast enough, i had it turned off when i was using 14.4K dialup, i think (got 56K now).

There seems to be a thing about dancing avatars at the moment. I think it's silly and immature to have such a thing.....

That's strange. I normally use Firefox, but when I look at this page using Internet Explorer the animations don't work - and I have the "view animations" option ticked. Hmmmmmmm, I'm stumped. 😕
