Go to Tools > Internet Options >Advanced, then scroll down to
Multimedia and check 'Play animations in web pages'.

It was already checked. Tried unchecking, rechecking then applying and OKing - still no joy.

Think I'll stick to Firefox - loads pages much more quickly (for me anyway...)

Why don't you just switch browsers? There are so many reasons to do so.

One being that you'll no longer need to worry about spyware and viruses anywhere near as much.

Simply close IE and vow never to open it again.
