I was feeling sorry for myself this morning because I was feeling unwell. The I learned that a 17 year old friend was killed in a car accident last night. She was bright and beautiful and sweet, and now her family and friends are mourning her loss. We are so easily caught up in the petty minutia of our lives. It takes something like this to realize how lucky we are to be alive.

Yes, she was a friend of my sister's. I have weatched her grow up with my sister, as they did livestock show together. Her brother is in one of my classes, and he is one of the nicest guys I have ever known. She was a senior in high school this year.

My condolences on the loss of your young friend. Me, I'm going to the funeral of a 90-year old friend tomorrow. Different circumstances, but he will be missed by his family as much as your young friend. Death is nondiscriminate -- it comes to all.
