Perhaps a certain proportion of the people voting Trump did not want to say so to strangers on the phone or people carrying clipboards in shopping precincts.

People don't tell the pollsters what they are thinking anymore. I never do if I'm asked. The polls are used to influence the thinking of the weak minded. They are part of the establishment so who gives a crap.
