In northern Mexico is almost a second mother tongue, as you may be aware of.

So I learnt it that way, together with Spanish, since I was 3 or 4 years old at home and at school.

Plus, I worked as counselor together with Canadian and American lawyers, for many years.

😉

How's your Spanish these days, by the way, Derf? When I lived for a short period of time in Southern California, I used English like two or three times in 3 months, LOL!

My Spanish is getting better. I'm learning from a guy at work who may or may not be here legally and doesn't know much English.

It's kind of funny though; I seem to pick up the meaning of Spanish without knowing it.

LOL! Yeah, it's very simple, really.

Always keep your eyes on the hands and eyes of the person
speaking, and somehow you get what he/she wants to say.

When you don't get something, just tell him "repite esa chingadera, por favor"

😉

Like that, I don't know exactly what it means, but I get the jist of it. I guess I have an ear for languages.

Yeah, you really do, indeed!!

It's just "repeat that damn thing, please" and if the guy is Mexican, he will lass his guts off and be your friend from there on.

LOL!!! Yes! He's Mexican then, haha... when he says "pinche pendejo" you must answer "pinche puto", don't let him call you "pinche pendejo" without an answer, lol!

Yeah, profanity is always what people learn from a foreign language.
