With bright lights and lots of ventilation. Also, be sure that the large energy bills don't get traced back to your flat.

don't forget the CO2 tank, electric fans, water pump for hydroponic vegetable gardening, rockwool for seedlings, humidity regulation (humidifier/dehumidifier depending on location and season,) thermostat...

The cost will still work out cheaper. Plus I might even make a lil profit.

What darvlay was implying is that there have been more than a few people busted because of a sudden increase in their power bills. It is something that the electric company works in conjunction with the police. The good lights take a lot of juice.

Some people have been known to call the power company and inquire about the potential costs involved with getting a high-energy using piece of equipment installed in their house. Such as pool/jacuzzi. So there is something on the record of why their might be a potential power increase.

Also, do not under estimate the need for security in your location. Ie: do you have a landlord? IS there a possiblity of him stumbling across it due to some routine maintenance?

Good luck in your endeavor.

Also watch out for helicopters flying over head with infrared detectors to detect such activity. Not that I do that kind of thing for a living, but I now one who does.

it won't really matter if you set up your system into a closet eg. 'a dark place'.

here it wouldn't even be possible to intrude just because the electric bill was high. also, there's all kinds of crazy contraptions people run in the privacy of their homes. in finland it's almost customary to have an electric sauna for instance. - cops coming because of 'suspicious electric bills' sounds like an urban legend to me...

You would hope so, but hardly the case.

"It's hard to believe a high utility bill would be enough to issue a state
warrant," said Dagy, who is demanding the Police Department issue a written apology.

Authorities say they have already apologized verbally several times and were only following proper procedures. Tracking down marijuana growers by reviewing electricity bills, they say, is a common practice.

"I understand they feel something isn't appropriate here, but it is very much consistent with how search warrants are prepared," said police Lt. Bill Rowland. "
