I thought it might be interesting to share anecdotes positive or negative, big or small, on how covid has impacted or is still impacting our lives.
I have some negatives, although I’m working hard to restore correct balance in the areas below so some positives will come I’m sure…
Lost a friend last April, a beloved husband. His widow and I are colleagues and we are all meeting up in North Devon with other friends in December.
Lost my work, all of it. Was happily and prosperously self-employed but lost everything in 2020. Am successfully rebuilding my professional life but it’s a long way back, if there is a way back. At least I’m working and happy in it.
Lost family relationships; conspiracy theories abound on both side my family. Some relationships in particular have become so strained that I wonder if they will fully recover.
Reflecting back then over the last two years, it’s been pretty rough for all of us I expect.

That is sad news, a sad development. Let's hope things get better soon. I must say, I haven't noticed much of the pandemic other than from a distance, media and hearsay, so I'm lucky this far. Will have my third vaccination soon but I have lived pretty much as usual, being a bit extra careful when among people.
@trev33 saidAs I’ve mentioned in the past I deliver, for our local pharmacy, prescribed meds to shut ins as well as some others unable to get to the pharmacy. Since the beginning of the Covid “issue” what used to take me about an hour or hour and a half, now takes me three to four hours. Oh and we haven’t been able to travel to the Caribbean for our yearly vacation. Ooooops almost forgot it also interfered with my daughters wedding plans, though we were able to have a small wedding last year. 🤔 Think that’s it.👍
I had some beers in Colombia.
@badradger saidSame here.
I drank more, relaxed more,ate more, slept more so far its been epic.
@torunn saidThanks.

The family division is the worst thing.
@divegeester saidOf course, is it because of lock-down and isolation?
Thanks.
The family division is the worst thing.
@divegeester saidFamily relationships can be complicated, I won't enquire further about the conspiracy theories, it sounds unfortunate though. My family is complicated and difficult, always has been but it has nothing to do with the pandemic.
No the propagation of conspiracy theories which I mentioned in my OP.
@torunn saidFeel free to ask whatever you like about it, it’s fine with me 😊

@torunn saidFamilies are indeed complicated, even without having to deal with conspiracy theories.
My family is complicated and difficult, always has been but it has nothing to do with the pandemic.
@divegeester saidWhat kind of conspiracy theories can there be in a family?
Feel free to ask whatever you like about it, it’s fine with me 😊
@torunn saidI’m not sure I understand your question.
What kind of conspiracy theories can there be in a family?
Did you see what I wrote in my OP? Some of my family hold firmly to conspiracy theories.
