We had tanks like that! Cars today just aren't the same!
My first car that I owned was named Dogbreath by my brother (who said that if you could make a visual image of a dog's breath, it was that car). It had a push-button transmission. One day I couldn't get it to go in reverse. John said to just pull off the metal front of the dash, and all I had to do was pop the little spring back onto the button. My kind of auto mechanics!

Yes, great story. I normally don't real long posts like this, but for some reason I decided to read this one. Well done RR.
Edit: On a side note, I can't stand hippies, but I always thought the sister on The Wonder Years was kinda hot. 😀

I do remember him having one really tiny blue car - like a clown-car sized station wagon. I want to say it was an Austin but I don't know for sure. We loved it as kids because it didn't even sound like a car - it kinda buzzed when it ran.
The Austin (or whatever) met it's demise the during a really heavy rain when dad drove it through a really deep puddle.

I had no problem with hippies, but I must say the aversion to bathing and clean clothes was a turn off.

The awful thing is I really don't remember!!! I don't think it was a Dodge, though. I used to remember every car I had, since there were so few of them. Now I'm lucky I remember where my rocker and cane are! 😉
