And even if it's not a sales person... I figure I have 5 hours and 45 minutes from the time I leave work till I have to go to bed to sleep and go back to work! Of that 5 hours and 45 minutes, 30 minutes are spent EACH WAY for the drive to ...[text shortened]... ople who call and want to take a half hour out of my life! 😠

Does anyone else feel this way?
Simple solution: As soon as you find out that it's a meaningless phone call, hang up. See, it doesn't have to take half an hour. 2 minutes, and it's over.

And I tried that... you see, in America they use a level system. The way it works is that the computer calls and when you answer, transfers the call to a level 1 salesperson. If you hang up on that person the computer moves your number to a level 2 salesperson... and so on and so on.

Seriously, I had MCI call me 6 times within 5 days trying to get me to switch my long distance phone service to them. After the 3rd time I requested to speak to the manager and told them I was going to SUE them if they didn't stop calling me. The manager apologized and said she would remove my number from their list - but it would take 30 days to take affect...

So that went into their database as a person with high priority to sell! Cause they only had 30 days left to convince me! I actually had to shut my phone off for two weeks to stop the incoming calls! Yup, their reps were calling me 3 times a day!

Careful though, that site will install spyware on your computer and post pictures of your butt online.

Explain to them that you don't have a phone, and hang up.

What I've started doing now is; when the call comes I ask them to hold, they always say ok, then after about 25 seconds I give the phone to the wife who says into it, " your call is important to us please hold" and then stick some music on and forget em.

I generally answer my home phone in a strange way...

"Pixie sanctuary, head pixie speaking how may I Direct Your call"

or

"Martstens insane asylum, how may I help you"

if it's a friend calling they usually know it's me and carry on had some great conversations with Telkom. Asking to speak to the owner of the house I generally reply he is receiving his medicine and will not be available for at least 2 hours after the drugs kick in

Make sure the music is Brittney Spears or Frank Sinatra.
