Duck and cower. Yeah, I did that, too. After the blinding flash, shock wave, and searing heat, what were we supposed to do next? Wander home to find our homes reduced to ash and our mothers’ shadows burned into concrete?

My most memorable biology lesson was on a new thing called AIDS that killed you if you had sex with a man who had had sex with another man that had AIDS and you wouldn't know they had because they looked totally normal. We were told we should look out for legions on the skin.
