I've been writing for newspapers for more than 6 years but never received as much 'hate mail' as today, including one that literally states 'I hope you ...[text shortened]... er a political debate?... how do you guys deal with hate from others?

Guys, all your replies are priceless (slim, I am sending you the link and password to the newspaper in a pm, you'll have no problem with the language I guess) and I trully treasure them.
Unfortunately I grew dissappointed of my country each day until I decided to come to Europe and legally settle for the sake of a better life... I guess now I feel more free to let my rage go away with the most possible elegance [actually I didn't use the word pigs but gave the idea 😉 ]
My request for opinions was precisely how to manage with wrath against my person. I only replied the good ones (people fed up with the politicians) except for the one wishing my dead, where I used the 'cycle of life' argument. Then I blocked the email. The guy must be boiling in his own juices by now, haha 😀
Next week I am adding a PS to my column, saying "I want to take the opportunity to thank all the emails I received after last week's column. All of them were demonstrations of loveand support that reached the deepest corner of my heart"... or something like that 🙂
By the way, guys, here is a little token of my gratitude:
Don't visit Mexico this year. Wait until the elections take place (July 2nd, 2006) and see how the country swallows the results. There may be some violence there.
