IHOP's is nice, but if you have the good fortune to live in the deep South (US): WAFFLE HOUSE!!!!!!!! You ARE greeted by the cooks when you walk in the door, you sit in a booth or at the counter and look over and watch your order being cooked, the staff treats you like an old friend, and you get a hell-of-a-lot of food for the price. The waiting line goes back out the door? Well amateur, know when to arrive at the slow times and do you have anywhere else better to go anyways????

Originally posted by rbmorrisOf course not! It makes me feel welcomed. Realize that a Waffle House is a dinner in the classic sense of the word. The building is about the size of a city bus and if it bothers you to rub elbows with your fellow dinners or that your conversations may become public property, then you are in the wrong place. Any eatery with a cold or stand-offish staff will NOT do well south of the Mason-Dixon. 😉
This doesn't offend you? (the staff treats you like an old friend)
