The 51 Uses of RFID Chips That Could Help or Harm Your Health

"Don't worry, however -- you will have zero say in whether these babies are approved or disapproved. Your congressmen and a few well-heeled business lobbies will be kind enough to make that decision for you (in your best interest ... which is any interest they make on money of yours they gobble up).

Do these chips come in a Salt-n-Vinegar variety? If so, I'm all for them.

This is one of those landmark events that very few will notice until it’s too late.

I really don't care that the credit card company knows I like Kellogg's Corn Flakes.

Yes, in the US the government is going to make all Americans carry a National ID card that will have a RFID chip as of May 2008. They've already figured out how to do it - just incorporate the chip into a driver's license. You have to have it to drive.

But guess what? Within a few years they'll make it MANDATORY that everyone has the chip inserted into their body. Yes... and those who refuse won't be able to drive, have a bank account, or even buy food!

Geez, seems like somebody once wrote about these things... remember? Revelations?

Bump this on Monday -- I gave up thinking for the weekend.

I'm sorry, but that sounds like bull... give me links please.

Until RFID is absolutely secure, I can't see anyone using this technology for anything except consumer products and supply chain management.

I'm siiting back waiting for payday (again). Irrakis is correct for once, well kinda. It may be incorporated into passport usage too. I invested heavily into this with 60% of my corp. I assure you - it is coming. Not into your body though!

I have 3 friends who work for a RFID company and all the R&D work they did was in SCM. Consumer 'economics' is where the money is and this technology is definately on the horizon here.

I know it's coming, but I'm not running around, shouting "Armageddon!". It will make my life easier. I'm a law abiding citizen, so I don't care how many databases full of information 'they' have on me.
All my consumer information is already stored digitally, what difference will RFID make to that picture?
Hell, identity theft is happening here in South Africa - caused by corrupt officials. Even insecure RFID might actually help here.

Mandatory RFID chips in our bodies? I don't think so either...

Yup, that's what I was thinking while reading the article. Sounds like what religious talk people have been saying for years.

Interesting stuff indeed.

and then the public.

tee hee, its all good fun eh

Trust me it won’t hurt…bring it on.

Edit: the last link highlights an interesting point.

...However, its use in humans has already been trialled in America, where the chips were implanted in 70 mentally-ill elderly people in order to track their movements.

Who would have thought.

Correct.... in no one's body.

The argument is in private courts at this moment as for with or without.

But your comment is in favour of my argument. Those who offend, and consistently offend, will surely be the ones who object? The law abiding most of us would prefer a system of tracking all. If you are having an affair and your movements are followed, tough shet! You shouldn't be doing it. If you are followed home and invaded by a man with a gun and robbed wouldn't you like his tracks followed and he be caught? Even the affair man was asked in court where he was that could be held private as long as it matched the conveyance. Initially, used only to maybe target regular users of commodities, (like flights, my area), it will be used honestly and for the benefit of all. (But also, I do admit Big Brother is getting worse. Invest in it!!)
